Maintaining cleanliness on your granite countertops is simple yet vital. After each use, wipe the surface with a specially formulated stone cleaner and a soft, clean cloth or microfiber towel. Blot any spills immediately with a paper towel to prevent stains, rather than wiping them, which can spread the spill.

Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaners, as well as natural cleaners like vinegar, lemon, or lime, which can weaken the sealer. Stick to products designed specifically for stone care to keep your granite looking its best.

3. Keep Your Countertops Dry

Keeping your countertops dry is just as important as cleaning them. After wiping down the surface, ensure it’s thoroughly dried with a clean cloth or paper towel. Professional installers seal countertops during installation, but these sealers do not make the surface entirely impervious to stains. Wiping up spills promptly prevents hard water deposits and mineral buildup, which can leave unsightly marks around faucets and sinks.
